Business Incubator Center Introduces Participants in the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” Summer Program to Bahrain’s Startup Ecosystem

As part of the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” summer program, the Business Incubator Center held a series of seminars to introduce the participants in the program to Bahrain’s Startup Ecosystem with the aim of introducing the participants to the major players in the ecosystem and ways to benefit from the services provided by these players for their businesses.
Dr. Simon Galpin, Promotion and Investment Advisor at the Economic Development Board (EDB), was hosted to talk to students about the startup ecosystem in general and EDB’s efforts in specific.
Abdulla Almoayed, Founder and CEO of Tarabut Gateway, was also hosted to share his personal experience being a serial entrepreneur. He talked about the role of the Central Bank of Bahrain in the ecosystem and how it supported launching his business which was the first graduate on the CBB’s Regulatory Sandbox allowing the company to developing a single universal open banking Application Programming Interface (API) that provides access to a global network of banks and FinTechs and allows money and information to flow securely, instantly and at a low cost.
The students were also introduced to ways to protect the Intellectual Property for their startups. The program hosted, Peter Mehrevari, U.S. Intellectual Property (IP) Attaché for MENA, who advised students on ways to protect their business’ intellectual property. He also provided students with real examples of intellectual property for startups.
Mohammad Ashoor, Co-founder and CEO of VII Tech Solutions and Springring, was hosted to introduce students to Idea Validation and ways that students could validate their business ideas through their customers before proceeding to establish the business.
